`Early contraction scare @ Week 26

26 July, felt something is wrong. Tummy seems harden a lot but not regular interval type like last time. No pain but just very uncomfortable. Sit also dun feel good... walk also dun feel good... So scared coz the past few days, I din get good sleep and rest as Rhys was having high fever for a few days. Scared that I may overexerted and the early contractions came back... yet, it might be due to my constipation leh... argh... dun know wat to do... if really contraction then how??

27 July, finally decided not to think so much and called to book appt with gynae. Dun want to kena scolding from Dr Chen again for not seeing her when things happen...
Dr. Chen checked and scanned. Everything seems fine.
Rhea is 1.167kg and she even yawn for us to see... Water level in waterbag also seems normal.
But Dr. Chen also felt my tummy a bit harden so she decided to put me on CTG to see if there are any contractions.
So there I was, lie down for 20mins... luckily no contractions found and I am relieved. Really pay money to buy a peace of mind...
Well this time, I get to get a scan pic of Rhea which make up for the missing one during my 24th week scan... hee...

`Waterbag leak scare @ Week 24

9 July, I was resting alone at home doing cross stitch for Rhea and suddenly I felt a gush down there. Went to check and my pantyliner, panty and my shorts are really wet! I had heavy discharge before but this heavy has never happened before. Quickly changed and monitored. It din happen again after that so I just put it aside.

10 July, Rhys was napping and suddenly he was screaming having nightmares... I quickly rushed to his room and there, I felt a gush down there again!
After settling Rhys, I went to check and it is the same as yesterday. My shorts are wet. Really getting worried now coz the liquid that wet my shorts seems to be clear and not discharge leh...
Din tell hubby coz dun want him to worry but I started googling on waterbag leaks. The more I read, the more scared I am. Coz it really sounds like my case.
Early contractions can be stopped with medications but if waterbag leaks, and Rhea is still so small, the outcome will be.... I dun even want to think abt it...
Since gynae clinic had already closed, I decided to monitor somemore...

11 July, nothing happens but still very worried. Wat if really leak, and the longer i waited, infection might happen! Wat if wat if wat if...
Finally I told hubby and he is also worried.
That afternoon, i cannot take it anymore, decided to call my gynae.
Kena scolding again lor for not seeing her right after the gush happened.
She told me to see her the next day.
I pray hard that everything is going to be fine.

12 July, I am among the 1st few patient to see Dr. Chen and she scanned me to check on the water level in the water bag. Seems ok and still have lots of water in there. Then, she used a swipe test to test if there are waterbag leaks coz if there are, the swipe will turn blue in color. Imagine my relief when it remains yellow.
Doc also suggested to take the Stripe B test since we are here.
Luckily everything seems fine and she can only say that the gush is most likely heavy discharge. Told me to monitor and if it happens again, MUST IMMEDIATELY find her. On top of that, still bed rest, no walking, no shopping...

Whew... wat a scary experience... seems like this pregnancy so many hiccups...
Sidetrack... a bit pantang now... so I think I will stop my cross stitch for a while. Poke poke poke then this waterbag thing come... like not good sign... better to be safe than sorry...

Please Rhea... stay with me...

`2nd day in Mt. Alvernia

Early morning, Dr. Chen arrived to check on me.
Good news is that the contractions are gone. My BP is back to normal.
She checked my cervix and luckily they remained closed.
So she said I can go to normal ward for 1 more day of monitoring.
If everything ok, then maybe the next day can discharge liao but need to be bed rested for a long time.

Told hubby the good news and within minutes, I am pushed to a normal 2-bedder rm with a rm mate.
She is 35weeks liao but staying in until labour coz of pre-eclampsia... we din talk much coz most of the time our curtains are drawn so I respected her privacy lah.
She quite poor thing also, coz still need to stay for 1 or 2 more weeks... I dun think i can be there for so long lor...
That night she was quarreling with her hubby over the phone about him going out late at night when she is in hospital etc... not that I want to eavesdrop lah but 2 pieces of curtains is not exactly soundproof lor... was a bit entertaining lah... haha..

Afternoon, hubby came with my change of clothes, my mac lappy and all the chargers. Luckily I have my dramas on my PSP, otherwise I am going to die of boredom there...

That early evening, Jane, Simon, little sam and Jane's sisters visited. Brot my 2 packs of M&Ms... hee... so glad to have someone to chat with esp. when hubby need to report for work last min. Missed Rhys so much... but hubby working and mum not likely to come so looks like today wun be seeing Rhys...

The rest of the night is ok... dinner was a bit better and I was strapped on CTG a few times to monitor. No contractions so far and baby Rhea giving the nurses super hard time coz she moves A LOT and several nurses have difficulties to trace her heartbeat on the CTG. Was so funny to see that right after the nurse tighten the belt, Rhea moved again and the trace is gone... haha... naughty girl... playing hide and seek with the nurses... even the chief nurse also cannot take it...

Anyway, everything turns out fine, and the next morning Dr. Chen checked and released me back home. Rhys came and bring me home and can see he is more interested in the tv + headphone + cartoon network then this mummie of his lor... see...

Whatever it is, Rhea.. be good girl and stay with mummie ok!!

`Early contraction @ Week 23!!!

Today, hubby took leave specially to accompany me coz this is my last day before term starts and we really din spend a lot of time together during this term break...Most of the time, I am alone at home... so today I am so happy... we spent some time together at home and finally decided to go taka to send my tiffany chain for repair as well as do a bit of shopping before going for a nice dinner.

BUT, after shopping for a while, I felt a horrible aching feeling at my pubic area. My legs, thighs are so "suan". After enduring for a while, I cannot take it and told hubby that I need to sit and rest. When I sit, it seems better. But once I start walking or stand, the aching feeling is back and really cannot tahan liao.

I was still thinking whether to see gynae or not but thot maybe becoz i overexerted just now. So hubby suggested why dun we just go back home and rest then see how. So there goes my nice dinner and while walking back to the car, I felt my tummy harden and loosen very often. That feeling is not right.
I began to note the interval of the contraction. It was 10min interval at first... then after a while, 7 mins...

When I reached home, it is ard 5 mins liao. I told hubby, cannot... although no pain but the contractions seems at regular interval and getting shorter and shorter.
So I gave Dr Chen a call and kena scolded why din go to her clinic eariler.
After hearing my description, she told me to rush down to Mt. Alvernia immediately and she will join me there.

So there we go, suay suay with all the evening peak traffic jams, we took some time getting to the hospital. Can see that hubby is really worried coz he kept asking me whether still have contractions or not. Deep down inside, I kept asking Rhea be good girl and pls pls pls... let nothing bad to happen on her....

When we reached Mt. A, there wasn't a lot of patients waiting and the A&E already been informed so immediately they wheeled a wheelchair in and sent me up to the labour ward. Surprisingly the waiting room was empty and the whole labour ward seems deserted. Once I am on the bed, they quickly strapped me on CTG and monitored. Nurse asked how long is the pregnancy and I said 23 weeks. The nurses all said wah... so early... made me so scared... and it turns out that my contractions are happening EVERY 4 MINS!

Soon, Dr Chen arrived. She told me this is quite common and she gets these kind of cases a few times in a mth. Told me to take some meds and hopefully the contractions will stop. She mentioned that luckily I monitored, noted the contractions and get treated immediately coz some ppl dun know and waited till the pain came, and the whole labour cycle will start. By then will be quite difficult to stop it liao... and my baby being only 23 weeks old, have low chance of surviving if that happens. So scared.

She told me not to move, get ready to be admitted for at least 2 to 3 nights as they need to monitor closely. And most likely, she will be putting me on bed rest after this for a long period of time. Aiyo... school term start liao leh... in balestier somemore... short of staff now... so many problems... sigh... Doc told me bo bian coz baby is too early to come out if anything happens. After instructing the nurses, she left and said she will be back to check on me tomolo and hopefully by then, my contractions are gone.

While lying down on the bed, with the CTG belt strapped, I can feel the tummy rose UP and harden when the contraction comes. And it is getting a bit more painful. I am so scared and prayed and tell Rhea to be good girl and stay guai guai inside...
After taking pills after pills, contractions seems not that painful liao but still have. And it is getting late. I told hubby to go back and settle Rhys first. He haven even eat dinner yet. Since I will be monitored in the labour waiting rm (nurse will 24/7 monitor), there is nothing much he can do too...

After hubby left, i just lie there, watched tv and managed to have a horrible dinner from the hospital. Anyway, my hands are shaking very badly most likely a side effect of the pills i took. Din eat much and nurse switched off the lights.

Can't really sleep even though there are NO patients admitted thruout the night. It was so surprising coz I thot, every night sure got ppl give birth one mah... but just this night, nothing. Dr. Chen and nurses say I am lucky...

Every few hours, the nurse will come and wake me to eat my pills and I noticed that after my 3am meds, my contractions seems gone for good. Quite glad and very soon, it is 7am and lights are all up liao...

What a day...
