`Early contraction @ Week 23!!!

Today, hubby took leave specially to accompany me coz this is my last day before term starts and we really din spend a lot of time together during this term break...Most of the time, I am alone at home... so today I am so happy... we spent some time together at home and finally decided to go taka to send my tiffany chain for repair as well as do a bit of shopping before going for a nice dinner.

BUT, after shopping for a while, I felt a horrible aching feeling at my pubic area. My legs, thighs are so "suan". After enduring for a while, I cannot take it and told hubby that I need to sit and rest. When I sit, it seems better. But once I start walking or stand, the aching feeling is back and really cannot tahan liao.

I was still thinking whether to see gynae or not but thot maybe becoz i overexerted just now. So hubby suggested why dun we just go back home and rest then see how. So there goes my nice dinner and while walking back to the car, I felt my tummy harden and loosen very often. That feeling is not right.
I began to note the interval of the contraction. It was 10min interval at first... then after a while, 7 mins...

When I reached home, it is ard 5 mins liao. I told hubby, cannot... although no pain but the contractions seems at regular interval and getting shorter and shorter.
So I gave Dr Chen a call and kena scolded why din go to her clinic eariler.
After hearing my description, she told me to rush down to Mt. Alvernia immediately and she will join me there.

So there we go, suay suay with all the evening peak traffic jams, we took some time getting to the hospital. Can see that hubby is really worried coz he kept asking me whether still have contractions or not. Deep down inside, I kept asking Rhea be good girl and pls pls pls... let nothing bad to happen on her....

When we reached Mt. A, there wasn't a lot of patients waiting and the A&E already been informed so immediately they wheeled a wheelchair in and sent me up to the labour ward. Surprisingly the waiting room was empty and the whole labour ward seems deserted. Once I am on the bed, they quickly strapped me on CTG and monitored. Nurse asked how long is the pregnancy and I said 23 weeks. The nurses all said wah... so early... made me so scared... and it turns out that my contractions are happening EVERY 4 MINS!

Soon, Dr Chen arrived. She told me this is quite common and she gets these kind of cases a few times in a mth. Told me to take some meds and hopefully the contractions will stop. She mentioned that luckily I monitored, noted the contractions and get treated immediately coz some ppl dun know and waited till the pain came, and the whole labour cycle will start. By then will be quite difficult to stop it liao... and my baby being only 23 weeks old, have low chance of surviving if that happens. So scared.

She told me not to move, get ready to be admitted for at least 2 to 3 nights as they need to monitor closely. And most likely, she will be putting me on bed rest after this for a long period of time. Aiyo... school term start liao leh... in balestier somemore... short of staff now... so many problems... sigh... Doc told me bo bian coz baby is too early to come out if anything happens. After instructing the nurses, she left and said she will be back to check on me tomolo and hopefully by then, my contractions are gone.

While lying down on the bed, with the CTG belt strapped, I can feel the tummy rose UP and harden when the contraction comes. And it is getting a bit more painful. I am so scared and prayed and tell Rhea to be good girl and stay guai guai inside...
After taking pills after pills, contractions seems not that painful liao but still have. And it is getting late. I told hubby to go back and settle Rhys first. He haven even eat dinner yet. Since I will be monitored in the labour waiting rm (nurse will 24/7 monitor), there is nothing much he can do too...

After hubby left, i just lie there, watched tv and managed to have a horrible dinner from the hospital. Anyway, my hands are shaking very badly most likely a side effect of the pills i took. Din eat much and nurse switched off the lights.

Can't really sleep even though there are NO patients admitted thruout the night. It was so surprising coz I thot, every night sure got ppl give birth one mah... but just this night, nothing. Dr. Chen and nurses say I am lucky...

Every few hours, the nurse will come and wake me to eat my pills and I noticed that after my 3am meds, my contractions seems gone for good. Quite glad and very soon, it is 7am and lights are all up liao...

What a day...
