`1st forum mummies gathering Today, some of the mummies in Oct2010 forum thread and I are meeting up for dinner in vivocity. So exciting. And only after committing to the ladies that I found out that Rhys was not schooling on the same day too so I got to think of doing something with him before asking my mum to take care of him for the evening. And just nice, got Robinson Expo Sales so brot him and mum to go shopping... Not much things to buy coz big tummy, no need to buy clothes. They dun have much baby stuff too. End up only getting an Esprit bag, an OP tee and some toys for Rhys and Ryann. Finally rushed back home to change and rushed out again to meet the ladies. Although it is only princess_diamond (Amy) and Snoopy (Esther), we had a great time just chitchatting away in the jap restaurant. Maybe also becoz the 3 of us are 2nd time mummies, we got so much to talk abt. Abt child birth, abt pregnancy, abt our kids... it was great! I want to go for these gathering again!! `Week 20 Scan (Detailed Scan)  Finally! The day has arrived...Waited for a month to see the little fellow... so fast 20 weeks liao... Today is the day when we finally get to know whether baby is a girl or a boy! Was hectic when we started the day as Rhys was sick so need to "deposit" him at my mum's place coz right after the detailed scan, we are supposed to attend hubby's grandma's 出殡。 This time round, the detailed scan is at Thomson Medical Center (TMC). When we did detailed scan for Rhys last time, we did it at Mt. Alvernia, and was quite a wait coz just waiting for the report was ard 1hr lor... so this time we are a bit worried that we might be late for the 出殡. But surprisingly, TMC was very efficient! The other difference is that I was brought in to scan first and the sonagrapher took all the measurements of the baby without hubby... even I dun get to see the monitor, just glimpse of it nia... Luckily baby is very cooperative. When the sonagrapher said, "baby dun move har..." and she really stopped. hee... There was a moment when she is scanning the heart area and it seems that it is taking a bit longer than usual... was a bit worried at that time but after that, seems ok liao. Then, after ard 15mins, she asked me, "Do you want to know the gender?" hee... I cannot resist and said YES. She answered, "It's a GIRL." And I was grinning away when she told me she is done with my measurements and time to get hubby in... When hubby came in, I just can't help grinning away... keke... Then starts the "body tour" of our little one inside me... Shown us the head, brain, spine, heart, bladder, thighs etc.. And this little princess was stretching inside me by arching her head backwards... so cute.. Her right arm was up and her closed fist was on her forehead, like saying 伤脑筋！ While the other hand was moving away... At the end of the session, she even put for left fist right below her chin! So cute! The sonagrapher even printed that picture just for us... (See above pix) And when the sonagrapher showed us the backside for the "hamburger" which indicates that she is truly a girl, we dun know where to see... she only shown us 3 lines and I told her, "confirm har? coz I cannot see leh" and she said "yah... otherwise, will see something protruding out... haha..." As usual, hubby was cool and quiet... But I know... he is happy to have his little princess!!! Oh... and sonagrapher mentioned that baby is on the big side, weighting 386gms and I was so surprised! Coz I have not been putting up weight (later checked at clinic, I only put on 500gm in a month!) and tummy also not showing much. I was still worried that baby is a bit small... and now she just told me that baby is BIG?? Haha... think that is more surprising than the gender we found out just now... But good thing is that she also mentioned that baby is fine, heart is pumping very strongly. I think that will be good enuff... And of coz, the happiest thing is that I wun be disappointing so many ppl who truly wished that I will have a girl this time... I think that is actually my most worrying part as even though I wish to have a girl girl this time round, I am fine with a boy too as it is really a tough journey for me to go thru just to get preggie this time... But then, seeing that EVERYONE, esp. my mum would really like to have a girl girl... I really cannot imagine how am I going to tell them if she turns out to be a boy... LUCKILY, I dun need to... haha... Thank god! Right after the scan, within FIVE minutes, the report is printed on A4 paper and given to us. Wow.. I am truly impressed! Then it is rushing down to gynae for the last report review. Luckily not a lot of patients and we got to see her quite fast... Everything seems ok to the doc except my BP is still on the high side... I was warned AGAIN to rest and sleep early... sigh... hopefully my BP stays low low low... And then, we rushed back to the wake and wait for the whole ceremony to start... When we walking from the carpark, my mum and my SIL already saw me and I can see my mum grinning away, waiting for me to announce... can see her excitement... haha... But I play naughty and din revealed... haha... so funny to see my mum, wants to ask but dun want to ask face... haha... finally I told her, and I can really see how happy she is... Think, the face she had then, was PRICELESS... Baby, think your grandma is going to dote on you upside down and inside out!! haha.... ♥ Monday, June 7, 2010 @ 10:13 PM
`Another boy boy name choice... Hmm... suddenly thot of another name if is boy boy... 刘瑞宇 Ruiyu... Not too bad... and I realised hor, all the names are having the same initials, L.R.Y!! `New choice of boy boy name.... Well, since we have 瑞雅，Rhea for girl girl's name... not fair if we dun have a boy boy's name right... esp. when we got no idea is boy or girl now... So to be fair too, I started cracking my brain on what word to match with 瑞 for boy. Aiyo, then I realised how difficult is to get a nice chinese word that can match with 瑞 leh. In the end, I thot of one! 刘瑞阳。Sounds nice. Hubby said not bad too... BUT... since Rhys rhymes with 瑞毅 and Rhea rhymes with 瑞雅, then 瑞阳 rhymes with what?? Rayon?? sounds like Crayon leh... hahaha... like that also headache!! alamak! We shall wait and see if other better names pops up... |
